Little Babes Montessori School
29 preschool children attend Little Babes Montessori School. Eleven of the children are from Mants'ase Children's Home which (at the moment) is providing facilities for the school.* On school days Mants'ase Children's Home provides lunch for all the children who attend Little Babes.
*The preschool used to be accommodated at the Community Hall but because of the condition of the building it is not suitable for school at the moment.
Ester Khobane is from Mohales Hoek and has been a preschool teacher for 11 years. Ester loves children, (she has four herself), and wants to help children receive a good education.
By helping families The Qhalasi Ratanang Support Group assists, on average, 90 orphans and vulnerable children in the Qhalasi/Ratanang communities.
The Support Group actively promotes health and welfare education. They also cater for community functions and receive donations of food, sewing materials and equipment, as well as children's clothing; and in turn distribute parcels of food and children's clothing within the communities. From time to time they receive and distribute other items, for example blankets.
Mants'ase Children's Home makes their facilities available for Support Group functions and the sewing group meets once a week at the Home where electricity and a store room are provided.
